Can't Be Part Of The Solution? Don't Be Part Of The Problem!

asalamualeikuum! been so long since i last posted some crap on this blog.

Today i introduce treehuggingfaggot's new slogan!!

"If you don't want to be part of the solution, the least you could do is not be part of the problem!"

Now, give that some serious thought!

Till next time faggots!

Spreading The Love

Heh... felt quite proud posting this on a public forum, my first step at spreading awarness (its pretty gay though)

"ahhh well, such is so. thats why we should be more environmentally friendly.

the issue of global warming is definitely much of a problem for everyone. just think of the effects of a mere 1 degree celsius on your body. an increase of that amount could amount a fever. just think of the various cold blooded species in the world getting affected by this additional 1 degree. why, they might all be having fevers now!

so well, here are some steps to minimize ur impact on the earth (i'm lor sor, but well, heh, i'm an "environmentally concerned citizen" AKA "greenie, hippie, blah blah blah")

1. Switch of stuff when not in use. don't leave stuff on standby mode, they end up consuming wasted electrical power that get reflected in your bill little by little.

2. reduce reuse recycle. (i must point out that it is always more important to reduce, then reuse and finally recycle). you may wasting a small item like a plastic bag or some water, but when you add everything up that you've wasted so far, then consider the amount of energy taken to manufacture the item, its actually quite a lot.

3. use eco friendly products. there's a green label of sorts on many power crunching devices such as aircons and fridges. by buying the most efficient products (based on their energy label). you save vaulable energy, as well as avoid burning a hole in that darn pocket due to your energy bills

4. demand chuangyi use recycled paper to print manga or dun buy (haha... joking, nobody will forgo cheap, good manga for recycled paper! but i hope cy uses recycled paper!)

Lets all hold hands and join the green movement. lalala (<- utterly gay sentence from the guy with the panty avatar) "

I finally found this article so i'm posting on it.

Quoted From Channel NewsAsia Website

SINGAPORE: Students in Singapore are highly aware of environmental issues like global warming, energy and water conservation.

That is according to a recent survey by the National Environment Agency, which was released at the launch of the Schools' Carnival as part of the Clean & Green Week 2006.

The survey found that nine out of 10 of the 1,900 students who took part in the survey are aware of environmental issues, and 8 in 10 students showed interest in environmental issues.

A similar proportion of students felt that environmental issues will be part of their lives.

However, when it came to putting this into practice, only 6 in 10 students were doing so.

============================================

Here's my frank opinion:

HAHAhhahaHAhhahahaHAhahahHAhahahHAhahaHHAha... snort... wheeze wheeeze.. hahaHAHahhaAHhahHAhahHHAhhaa.... (rofl)... hahahaHHAhahHAhaHHAhaha...

2 Words.

Bull

Shit

AWARE? INTEREST? PUT INTO PRACTICE? This has gotta be the MOST FUNNY THING I ever heard, coming from a society where you say "hey! I'm concern about the environment" and everyone else goes "whoooaa......... HIPPIE!". Haha, joke, BIG UGLY JOKE

Go Watch Happy Feet!

Loved this movie, its pretty funny, plus it tells ya so much environment! Take dear ol memphis here who got his damn penguin head caught in a plastic ring. CMON! see this is a fiiiiiine example of LITTERINGGGGGGGGGG..... Especially into those rivers and seas of yours. You're KILLING UNSUSPECTING WILDLIFE, throwing pieces after pieces of JUNK into that beautiful water and letting them get to it. Imagine you swimming in that junk infested sea and getting your head stuck into a foam box or breathing in plastic bags. Nice? You don't think so? SO DO THE WILDLIFE! So stop doing it :) <- eerie change of tone.

And whats the whole movie about? Happy feet? Penguins? Nooooooooo.... its about our excessive lifestyle! Why, LOOK at that trailer in the movie with its HUGE sack of fish. We're taking away whats meant for others, and in large quantities! We're eating too much fish, the movie seems to tell us. Well... its not just fish, we're consuming too much! Supermarkets with their unlimited supply of food, the endless buffet tables. And lets not just stop there, how bout products laden with packaging, or our endless and growing demand for fossil fuels, the list is sure endless!

Now, lets all just think, what if we stop consuming excessively? What if we bought only what we needed? What if we cut down on our wastage? Whats there to lose for us? What if we bought lesser food, used lesser fossil fuels (petrol, electricity), bought more efficient appliances and cars, lived in smaller houses? Ultimately, we end up gaining from all the monetary savings! If thats not enough, well, get off this planet :) <- eerie change of tone again

Amazing Green Race 2006!

Pretty happy with this year's Amazing race, the teachers spent their time taking pictures of the environment unlike other years where they ran around like monkeys to win the prize. hope next year they do the same. BUT- the SPENV pitstops were totally unnecessary, aside for giving us a nice place to mine for CCA points.

And oh, i got the Green Butty Award from SP for my "Contributions to the environment". Nice plaque, but i love the $500 more. so pragmatic am i.

GUPPY POWER!

One of my female guppies just had like 10 baby guppies! Cool. Besides tree hugging, everyone should invest in a good fishtank and a few nice fish. They are soo interesting to watch. But please, no endangered fish.

Here's the song if anyone's interested! Youtube rocks!

I Need To Wake Up (Ending Song For An Inconvenient Truth)
Melissa Etheridge

Have I been sleeping?
I’ve been so still
Afraid of crumbling
Have I been careless?
Dismissing all the distant rumblings
Take me where I am supposed to be
To comprehend the things that I can’t see

Cause I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

And as a child
I danced like it was 1999
My dreams were wild
But the promise of this new world
Would be mine
Now I am throwing off the carelessness of youth
To listen to an inconvenient truth

Well I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

I am not an island
I am not alone
I am my intentions
Trapped here in this flesh and bone

And I need to move
I need to wake up
I need to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

I want to change
I need to shake up
I need to speak out
Something’s got to break up
I’ve been asleep
And I need to wake up
Now

--------------------------------------------
Now isn't it time to wake up to what's really happening around this beautiful planet? Lets stop environmental degradation today! No man is an island, but together, we are a planet! So lets keep this planet running properly for years to come, lets be more responsible for our actions. Take the initiative to learn how you can make a difference.

And... be sure to catch this inconvenient truth when it opens this Thursday (its not exciting, but hey, its informative)!
